Made You Look Media unleashes the Kraken in North Perth with latest hand painted mural

| | No Comments

Made You Look Media has unveiled a dramatic large-format mural for Kraken Black Spiced Rum in North Perth, commissioned by Apparition Media.

Painted by Michael Betts, the artwork transforms the building into a scene straight from the depths: cracked brickwork splitting open, tentacles wrapping through the facade, and the Kraken’s eye staring directly out at passing traffic. The level of texture and detail, positions the mural as a standout moment for high-craft OOH in Western Australia.

As global brands increasingly look for impactful ways to show up in local markets, this installation demonstrates the unique stopping power of hand painted OOH. Rather than blending into the advertising landscape, Kraken’s presence in Perth feels bold, tactile and unmistakably physical – something no digital file or printed skin can replicate.

“This campaign brings big-brand energy into Perth’s streets in a way that feels raw and real,” said Will Clark, Director of Made You Look Media. “Large-scale OOH like this reminds people that advertising can be an experience and not just another ad.”

The mural adds to the growing momentum of hand painted advertising across WA, where big brands are increasingly embracing craft, character and narrative to cut through.
