Every year, Carols in the Domain brings people together to share music, memories and the unmistakable magic of Christmas. This year, with The Salvation Army as the new naming sponsor, that magic takes flight in a way the event has never seen before.

For the first time ever, Coca-Cola will light up the Domain sky with a 500-drone spectacular, a dazzling new experience designed to celebrate community, generosity and the gift of giving.

As night falls, the drones will sweep across a stretch of sky the size of one and a half football fields, soaring up to 150 metres – higher than the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. And in a moment made possible only by this technology, the first show ‘The Gift’ will feature a QR code formed entirely in the sky, allowing people at the event and viewers watching the broadcast to donate directly to The Salvation Army with a simple scan.

Since 2017, Coca-Cola has partnered with The Salvation Army at Christmas, donating almost AUD$1.4 million to help support Aussie families and communities doing it tough during the holidays.

The Salvation Army’s Commissioner Mark Campbell says: “Christmas is the busiest time of the year for us and we’re preparing to support more Aussies facing real hardship. We’re determined to give people the Christmas they deserve, and generous long-standing partners like Coca-Cola help make that possible. Their continued support – including this year’s unique drone show encouraging donations – helps us continue to provide hope, care and connection when people need it most.”

A second performance – created just for the crowd – will bring favourite ‘12 Days of Christmas’ to life in shimmering light, adding a fresh sparkle to a night already full of music and tradition.

Says Martyn Ferguson, Senior Director of Marketing, Coca-Cola Australia & New Zealand: “Carols in the Domain is one of Sydney’s most loved Christmas traditions, and Coca-Cola is proud to help The Salvos bring it to life in a new and magical way. Coca-Cola has been synonymous with Christmas for generations, and this year’s drone show is a fresh expression of that magic – a moment designed to celebrate the joy of giving and the power of community.”

Coca-Cola’s partnership with The Salvation Army Carols in the Domain forms part of a broader Festive marketing campaign celebrating connection, the joy of giving and the Christmas traditions Australians love. Alongside TV, digital, shopper and OOH activity, the campaign also partners with targeted KOLs selected to bring these values to life through authentic storytelling and content.
