Kirsty Gavin departs Group Creative Director role at Clemenger BBDO after five years

After five years at Clemenger BBDO, Group Creative Director Kirsty Gavin has announced on LinkedIn that she has departed the agency to pursue freelance work.

During her time at Clemenger BBDO, Gavin led integrated campaigns across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane for clients including Samsung, 7-Eleven, Officeworks, Michael Hill and P&G (Herbal Essences).

Gavin told CB: “I have adored my time at Clem’s and wish the agency all the best for its next chapter. Lee and the team are incredibly impressive and have supported me both professionally and personally in the recent years. I am very grateful.”

With a career spanning more than two decades, Gavin has shaped creative work for both global and local brands including Nestlé, Coca-Cola, Renault, Jaguar Land Rover, Virgin, Toyota, Bonds, Westpac, Lion Nathan, Carlton United Breweries, Westfield and Sheridan.

Prior to joining CHEP (now Clemenger BBDO), Gavin freelanced at a range of agencies including Sibling, AKQA, Saatchi & Saatchi, Havas Host, We Are Social, MercerBell and BWM. Before her freelance period, she spent three years at Havas Host, joining in 2016 as Creative Director, following a stint at Droga5 where she served as Head of Art. Earlier in her career, Gavin was Senior Art Director at Mojo Sydney (now Publicis Worldwide Australia), and prior to that an Art Director at The Campaign Palace and Vogue London.

A committed mentor and industry advocate and an AWARD alum herself, Gavin has supported emerging talent as an AWARD School tutor, judge, guest lecturer and panelist, with many of her mentees recognised on platforms including B&T 30 Under 30, Young Lions and Young Blood.

Her work has also earned accolades at D&AD, Cannes Lions, One Show, AWARD, CLIOs, The New York Festivals, One Club/ADC, and the London International Awards. Gavin’s move to freelance marks a new chapter in her career, where she will continue to contribute creatively while exploring a broader range of projects.
