Confronting Ai Film by AiCandy warns of cities submerged if UN climate goals are missed

AiCandy, Australia’s first Ai-powered creative production company, has created and donated a thought-provoking 90-second film to coincide with the International Day of Climate Action on Friday 24th October. The short film aims to spark urgent conversation about the fragility of our planet and the need to meet the UN 2030 deadline for climate action.

Created entirely with Ai, the film titled ‘Mad World’ highlights what’s at stake if the world fails to meet the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals on climate action.

A recent statement from the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) warns: “The high-end global mean sea-level rise is now projected to reach 1.3 – 1.6 metres from strong warming by 2100.”

Using cutting-edge Ai technology, the film visualises credible climate data to show what some of the world’s most iconic cities could look like if we fail to reverse climate change by 2030. From rising sea levels to collapsing infrastructure, the imagery delivers a sobering glimpse of what is at stake, while offering a message of hope that meaningful action can still change the outcome.

Set to Gary Jules’ iconic track ‘Mad World’, the film gains further emotional depth through the generosity of Jules and the record labels Terrorbird and BMG, who gifted the song to the project. Their support underscores the global importance of the message and the shared responsibility to act.

“This was an idea that sat in my bottom drawer for years, and only through Ai filmmaking were we able to finally bring the story to life,” said Kent Boswell, Co-Founder and Head of Production at AiCandy. “I can’t thank Gary Jules enough for believing in the project and donating his timeless track, which gave the film the soul it needed. We are deeply grateful for his generosity and belief in the project from Day 1.” As proud members of the United Nations Association of Australia (UNAA),

AiCandy has donated the film to support the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals on climate action, releasing it for maximum impact on International Day of Climate Action. Launched earlier this year by internationally awarded creative and production duo Marcus Tesoriero and Kent Boswell, AiCandy sits at the forefront of blending human creativity with next-gen Ai filmmaking.

This climate project reinforces the studio’s mission: to make impossible ideas possible with speed, scale, and emotional power. “Climate change is the defining issue of our generation,” said Marcus Tesoriero, Co-Founder and Head of Creative at AiCandy. “By harnessing Ai to show what our future cities could look like if we don’t act, we hope to make the consequences of inaction impossible to ignore. If our film inspires even a small step toward meeting the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, it will have achieved its purpose.”

AiCandy encourages everyone to share the film to help amplify the global call for urgent climate action.

Here is a Vimeo link and YouTube link to the film for anyone to freely share on their social networks.
