Surf Life Saving Australia launches new National Day with support from Five by Five

Independent creative agency Five by Five Global has partnered with Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) to bring to life Red & Yellow Day, a new nationwide celebration of the volunteers who dedicate their time, energy, and courage to keeping Australia’s beaches safe.
Launching on 4 March 2026, Red & Yellow Day will invite all Australians to show their support for surf lifesavers, who show up, season after season, in selfless service.
Appointed following a competitive pitch process earlier this year, Five by Five Global has since worked closely with SLSA to define the campaign’s brand identity, creative platform, and engagement strategy, designed to mobilise the nation around a single call to action: “Support our Surf Lifesavers.”
Red & Yellow Day will invite schools, workplaces, surf clubs, and communities across Australia to wear the iconic colours, fly the flags and to get involved by hosting their own fundraising events, to raise awareness and funds, and help turn the tide on coastal drowning.
Says Brett Morgan, Senior Brand, Marketing and Communications Manager at Surf Life Saving Australia: “Surf Life Saving is woven into Australia’s cultural identity, and our volunteers are the heart of that story. Red & Yellow Day will give everyone across the country a way to say thank you, from schoolyards and offices to beaches across the nation. Many of Surf Life Saving Australia’s partners are already finding creative ways to show their support, and we invite other businesses, big and small, to join this national effort. ”
Says Mark Anderson, Managing Director of Five by Five Global Australia: “We’re incredibly proud to help shape something that celebrates such an iconic part of Australian life. Red & Yellow Day is about more than creative assets or a single campaign moment, it’s about creating a unifying national movement, and a lasting legacy that is built on gratitude, inclusion, and community spirit. The collaboration with SLSA has been inspiring, and we can’t wait to see the day come to life next March.”
Red & Yellow Day aims to become an annual fixture on the national calendar, driving vital fundraising for lifesaving equipment, training, and education programs, while inspiring the next generation of volunteers.
