Aussie expat Tim Pashen and Worth Your While flip clichés in new ‘Holy Crocodile’ campaign to promote the Down Under Film Festival in Berlin

Crocodiles, cork hats, and kangaroos may be just a few cliches that come to mind when Europeans think of life Down Under. But the Down Under Film Festival (DUFF) invites audiences to look past the well-trodden tropes in their efforts to showcase Australian and New Zealand’s dynamic cinematic culture with screenings in Copenhagen, Denmark 2-5 October and in Berlin, Germany 16-19 October.

DUFF kicks off in Copenhagen this week with a promotional film‘ Holy Crocodile’ created by Copenhagen-based independent creative agency Worth Your While, led by Aussie expat and Executive Creative Director & Partner Tim Pashen.

The humorous film features a series of Danes who misunderstand the premise of the Down Under Film Festival and attempt to master the elusive accent (“Crikey mate”), only to discover that you don’t actually need to be from Down Under to get in.

Screening at Cinemateket – the Danish Film Institute – DUFF is a unique opportunity for Danish audiences to see films rarely screened in Scandinavia. Audiences will get the opportunity to see award-winning features, thought-provoking documentaries, bold shorts, and a beloved classic, all direct from leading festivals including Sydney, Melbourne, Flickerfest, and the New Zealand International Film Festival.

Says Mala Ghedia, Festival Directors, Down Under Film Festival: “Worth Your While has been the ideal creative partner to collaborate with. As a film festival, it made sense to work with a professional team who could capture the essence of our festival using the very medium of film that we celebrate. They absolutely nailed it!”

Says Pashen: “After moving to Denmark, I never expected to be on set in the middle of Copenhagen Zoo, surrounded by kangaroos, with an actor saying: ‘So you want me to steal the Kangaroo?’. But there’s a first time for everything.”

‘Holy Crocodile’ was co-written by Worth Your While in close collaboration with up-and-coming Danish director Sebastian Lopez.
