AdSchool Copywriting returns with revamped course led by ATime&Place’s Charles Baylis and Anthologie’s Josh Edge

Advertising Council Australia has announced the return of its AdSchool Copywriting course, refreshed and reimagined by Charles Bayliss, Executive Creative Director at ATime&Place and Josh Edge, ECD, Anthologie.

Over eight weeks, participants will move beyond theory into the craft itself, tackling practical briefs, frameworks, and applying insider insights that sharpen instincts and elevate the quality of every word. From the fundamentals of prose and persuasion to writing for audio, image and online, the course is designed to build confident, versatile copywriters.

“Without an ability to write well, our thinking just kind of floats about uselessly in our brains,” says Edge. “The world has never needed quality, persuasive writing as much as it does right now. The ability to write something that people care about is the number one career-defining skill for anyone in the communications business. So how do we tell interesting, engaging and useful brand stories in an endless sea of AI, chatbots, one-size-fits-all TOV guides and social media soundbites? We’ve asked some of the smartest ad writers in the country how they do it, and we’ve built a new course that hopefully distils it all into your head.”

Adds Baylis: “This year’s course is designed to help the participants fine-tune their own tone of voice, identify their writing strengths and hopefully start developing some new ones. We’re so proud of the teaching roster we have managed to corral, and personally, I can’t wait to learn a few extra skills from them too.”

Participants will have access to exclusive pre-recorded sessions with national creative talent from across Australia.
