Shine Lawyers appoints Motion Sickness as global creative and strategic agency partner

Auckland-based creative company Motion Sickness has been appointed as Shine Lawyers’ global creative and brand partner, continuing the agency’s strong run of growth in 2025.
The win comes off the back of Motion Sickness’ unconventional, non-advertising approach to creativity resonating with Shine Lawyers’ vision for its future.
“Motion Sickness’ work stood out because it doesn’t look or feel like advertising. Their thinking is fresh, unexpected, and gets to the heart of how people connect with ideas,” says Shannan Madden, Chief Marketing Officer at Shine. “That’s exactly what we need as we continue to evolve our brand.”
The partnership marks a new chapter for Motion Sickness, expanding further into Australia as the agency continues to grow beyond New Zealand. The move follows global recognition for its work, including two Cannes Lions Grand Prix earlier this year, and reflects a clear ambition to build on that momentum across the region.
Alex McManus, GM of Motion Sickness, says: “We’re stoked to be working with Shine Lawyers. They came to us with big ambitions and a real appetite for doing things differently, which is the kind of brief we love. The work we pitched pushed well beyond traditional advertising, and it’s exciting to be partnering with a client who’s ready to lean into that. Australia is a big focus for us as we continue to grow, and Shine’s people – driven by a strong conviction to right wrong – are who we want to be working with.”
The account win adds to Motion Sickness’ expanding roster of international clients, including Ora and Les Mills International, cementing its position as one of the fastest-growing independents in the Southern Hemisphere.
