Scott Hignett departs national CD role at The Star following closure of in-house creative dept.

Scott Hignett has wrapped up his time as National Creative Director at The Star Entertainment Group, following the closure of its in-house creative department.
Hignett, who announced the news on LinkedIn, wrote: “Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of leading a full brand overhaul for the business — a career highlight I’m extremely proud of. A heartfelt thank you to Melanie Luque for your mentorship, guidance, and friendship, and to the entire team for making it such a memorable ride.”
Prior to The Star, Hignett held senior creative roles at a number of major Australian agencies including M+C Saatchi, CHEP Network, DDB and Leo, and has led campaigns across entertainment, finance, FMCG, healthcare, retail and sport and more.
A highly awarded creative leader, Hignett’s work has been recognised at major shows including The One Show, Clios, Mobius, AWARD and MADC.
He’s now open to new opportunities, whether that’s returning to agency life, leading another in-house creative team, or jumping in on project-based work.
