Bargain Chemist responds to life’s not-so-big emergencies in new brand campaign via Yarn

| | No Comments

Bargain Chemist has launched a fresh new direction for the brand, showcasing how the New Zealand-owned pharmacy is here to help Kiwis through life’s smaller, everyday emergencies.

Created by independent creative agency Yarn, the campaign brings Kiwi humour front and centre, with a high-energy comedic duo racing around the streets in a branded ambulance, guiding customers to Bargain Chemist for a great range of pharmacy solutions at low prices.

Says Anna van der Loo, Head of Marketing at Bargain Chemist: “When the Yarn team presented the idea during the pitch process, we were instantly sold. Our CEO, Peter Shenoda, literally jumped online and bought the ambulance a week later. This campaign is the perfect way to show we’re not just about great prices — we’re a proudly Kiwi brand, here for Kiwis in all kinds of ways, big and small.”

Says Matt Sellars, Co-ECD & Partner at Yarn: “Anyone with kids knows the panic of needing a plaster right now. Or the frustration of that final, deflating squeeze of an empty cologne bottle. These everyday moments might seem small, but they can feel surprisingly major — and that’s exactly the sweet spot we’ve tapped into to create a relatable, light-hearted campaign that connects with Kiwis nationwide.”

Says Heath Davy, CEO & Partner at Yarn: “The Bargain Chemist team have some big ambitions for the business and that’s allowed us to reimagine the brand in its entirety – from the launch campaign and refreshed brand identity, right down to the in-store audio and wayfinding design. Collaborating with Reel Factory has once again been a fun ride, including the trials and tribulations of reviving an ambulance back to its siren-blaring glory. We’re looking forward to plenty more exciting work from this new long-term brand platform.”
