Circul8 Appointed as Creative Agency for Global Destination Rebrand of The Mariana Islands

The Marianas Visitors Authority (MVA) has appointed leading creative agency Circul8 to spearhead a comprehensive global rebranding initiative for The Marianas destination. This landmark partnership will see Circul8 deliver a transformative rebrand, underpinned by in-depth research, industry training, and a dynamic launch campaign, all in tandem with a tourism economic development report.

The appointment follows a competitive global selection process, with Circul8 chosen for its proven expertise in destination marketing and innovative, community-led approach. The project aims to reposition The Marianas as a destination for global travellers, driving sustainable tourism growth and economic development.

As part of the initial phase, Alana Stocks, Managing Director of Circul8, and Phil Watson, Creative Strategy Partner at Circul8, together with Chris Flynn, Director of the World Tourism Association for Culture & Heritage (WTACH), recently visited the Marianas.

During their visit, they engaged with government officials, the tourism board of Directors, local councils, and members of the community. The team also facilitated a series of interactive workshops, gathering insights from more than 70 stakeholders across the private and public sectors. This collaborative approach ensures the new brand authentically reflects the unique culture, heritage, and aspirations of The Marianas community.

“We are honoured to be entrusted with this significant project,” says Alana Stocks, Managing Director of Circul8. “Our team is committed to working hand-in-hand with the people of The Marianas to create a brand that captures the spirit of these unique islands and resonates with audiences worldwide.”

The rebranding contract encompasses:

●               A full destination rebrand, including visual identity, mascot and messaging
●               Comprehensive market research and stakeholder engagement
●               Industry training programs to support local tourism operators
●               A global launch campaign to unveil the new brand
●               A detailed tourism economic development report to inform future strategy

MVA Managing Director, Jamika R. Taijeron, says: “This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for The Marianas. With Circul8’s creativity and expertise, we are confident in our ability to showcase The Marianas’ rich culture, unique visitor experiences, and warm hospitality to the world.”

The new Marianas brand is set to launch later in 2025.
