Australia climbs to #7 country in the world at the 2025 Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity

Australia has solidified its position as a global creative powerhouse, finishing equal 7th with Canada in the country rankings at the 2025 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. This year, Australia brought home an impressive total of 27 Lions – comprising 2 Grands Prix, 6 Gold, 8 Silver, and 11 Bronze.

 

The result marks a significant leap up the leaderboard, with Australia climbing four places from 11th last year. Interestingly, this mirrors the country’s 2023 performance, when it also secured 7th place globally. While both Australia and Canada earned 27 Lions, Australia edged ahead in terms of overall performance thanks to a stronger metal haul at the top end, including two Grands Prix and six Golds.

Australia submitted the 11th most entries overall, with 618 entries across the festival – out of a total 26,900 entries submitted from around the world.

As expected, the United States dominated the competition, collecting a staggering 203 Lions, followed by Brazil (99) and the United Kingdom (80). Rounding out the top five were France (63) and India (32).
