The Final Journey: Help support Alt.vfx as Heidi hits the road one more time for Cancer Council Australia in this year’s Shitbox Rally

Alt.vfx director/founder Colin Renshaw and chief of operations Pete Herbert are once again gearing up for an unforgettable adventure to raise funds for Cancer Council Australia in this year’s Shitbox Rally.

Renshaw and Herbert are calling on friends and colleagues in the creative industry to support their team The Greenscreen Machine as they drive from Perth to Darwin in their trusty 1982 Mercedes, Heidi.

To make it even more fun, they’re offering rally-themed shoutouts:

🚗 Donate $100 or more? You’re a Turbo Titan – powering the cause!

🔥 Donate $500? You’re a Cancer-Crushing Legend! Alt.vfx will send a heart-felt thank you and feature your company logo front and centre on their socials.

This will mark their third rally, and as the curtain potentially falls on Heidi’s rally career, Renshaw and Herbert are more determined than ever to make this run count.

“Fundraising is the toughest challenge,” they say, “so any donation you can spare would mean the world to us – and to Heidi’s grand finale.”

For those unfamiliar, Shitbox Rally is Australia’s largest community-led fundraiser for Cancer Council and now in its 15th year. The rally challenges teams to traverse thousands of kilometres in cars worth no more than $1,500 – an unpredictable and often chaotic journey filled with breakdowns, camaraderie, and camping under the stars.

But it’s no race. Rather, it’s a shared mission, a celebration of life, and a tribute to those impacted by cancer. Since its inception, Shitbox Rally has raised more than $40 million, making it the largest single fundraiser for Cancer Council nationally.

Every participating team commits to raising a minimum of $5,000, with the 2025 Winter rally aiming for a staggering $2 million total. For Team Greenscreen Machine, it’s a cause close to the heart – and one they hope the creative industry will rally behind.

To help Renshaw, Herbert and Heidi make this a rally to remember – and continue the fight against cancer, one dusty kilometre at a time, please make a donation here.
