Heineken NZ launches bold 3D ‘Beer Pour’ OOH work via Saatchi & Saatchi and Dentsu Aotearoa

Heineken NZ has delivered a high-impact special build installation in the heart of Auckland’s vibrant Ponsonby district, designed to celebrate the smooth and refreshing taste of Heineken Silver.

 

The bespoke billboard, created in partnership with creative agency Saatchi & Saatchi and media agency Dentsu Aotearoa, features a striking 3D ‘beer pour’ effect, which sits atop JCDecaux’s premium site above Ponsonby Central, a sought-after location known for its nightlife, dining and social scene.

Part of a wider campaign that has been live across NZ with AV, outdoor and digital channels since October 2024, this spectacular installation was designed to reinforce Heineken Silver as the leading low carb beer option.

Says Cormac van den Hoofdakker, Senior Marketing Manager at DB Breweries: “Heineken Silver is a world class premium low carb lager, and we wanted to bring that same world class quality to our Out-of-Home execution.

“A complex build, both creatively and structurally, it brings the smooth, refreshing character of the beer to life in a bold and tangible way. The 3D ‘pour effect’ gives the campaign a striking impact. We had a fantastic opportunity to give this iconic billboard site a creative twist and showcase the smoothness of Heineken Silver in a new and refreshing way.”

To execute the concept, Heineken used Bootleg – a specialist fabricator experienced in intricate installations. The design required custom lightweight steel frames, laser-cut with millimetre precision and engineered to meet strict wind load and safety requirements. Each component was test assembled off-site before installation to ensure the structural integrity and flawless final presentation.

The Ponsonby Central site was chosen for its high traffic audience and its proximity to world class on-premise venues serving Heineken Silver.
