Peter Defries + Alan Wilson return from BBH New York to join Special as Group CDs on Uber APAC

Special has appointed Peter Defries and Alan Wilson as Regional Group Creative Directors across Uber and Uber Eats in the Asia-Pacific region. The creative duo, who have worked together for 14 years, are returning to Australia after nearly a decade in New York.
Most recently, Defries and Wilson were Executive Creative Directors at BBH New York, where they led creative for the J.M. Smucker Company portfolio and worked across major clients including Walmart and Cadillac. Their work has earned over 30 international awards, and in 2022, they were named among the Top 20 Executive Creative Directors in the world by D&AD. Their campaigns have been recognised across major industry award shows including Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show, AICP, Cannes Young Lions and AWARD. They’ve also had work featured in mainstream media outlets such as TIME, CNN, Forbes, Mashable, New York Post, Business Insider, and Good Morning America. In 2019, three of their films were listed in Shoot Magazine’s Top 100 videos of the year, and their Jif vs Gif campaign was dubbed “The Best Peanut Butter Campaign of All Time.”
At Special, the pair join the Uber APAC leadership team alongside Celia Garforth and Lauren Portelli. The agency’s remit for Uber and Uber Eats spans Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
