Christopher Tovo to talk taste, truth + tenacity at MADC ‘Art of Craft’ event on Thurs, March 20
MADC’s event series for the detail obsessed creative – the Art of Craft – is set to return with world-renowned photographer, director and cinematographer Christopher Tovo opening the doors to his studio for a session on ‘Speaking With The Shutter” on Thursday, March 20.
Tovo is an award-winning photographer, director, and cinematographer based in Melbourne. With over 30 years of experience, he has built a diverse portfolio encompassing advertising, fashion, and documentary projects.
Fresh off his high profile campaign with Uber Eats and Cher, Tovo’s work is characterised by a deep engagement with his subjects, which showcases his ability to blend cultural narratives with visual artistry.
Says Tovo (pictured above): “As some of the tried and true approaches to creative practice start getting a bit of a nudge from new technologies, finding and finessing your own personal, creative voice has never been more important. Carving out a distinct and powerful creative perspective over time takes intention and focus – no matter your line of creative work.”
Drinks and snacks will follow, along with an informal Q&A. Guests will also take part in a live shoot session to watch Tovo’s process in action and hear some of his masterful tips and tricks.
