Kayo Sports and Foxtel to debut ‘Six & Out: Second Innings’ documentary series via Foxtel Group in-house agency Balboa and OMD Create
This summer, Kayo Sports and Foxtel are setting the stage for an epic cricket season with a unique new feature: Six & Out: Second Innings, an exclusive documentary series. Balboa – Foxtel Group’s in-house creative agency in collaboration with OMD Create partnered with McDonald’s to produce the documentary series, which will be accessible on Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
The series will take viewers behind the scenes with Six & Out, Australia’s iconic cricket band, as they embark on a musical and cultural journey that runs parallel to the highly anticipated Australia v India Test series.
Debuting at a special Summer of Cricket preview event on Friday, November 15 at Sydney Coliseum in Rooty Hill, Six & Out will perform live, alongside a Fox Cricket star-studded panel discussion hosted by commentator Mark Howard. The panel will feature cricketing icons Harsha Bhogle, Ravi Shastri, David Warner, Brett Lee, and Wasim Akram, giving fans an early glimpse of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Test series. Selections from the performance and panel will air on Fox Cricket on Monday, November 18, following the third T20 International between Australia and Pakistan.
The Six & Out: Second Innings documentary, created in collaboration with McDonald’s, offers a raw and heartfelt look at the band’s journey, legacy, and impact on Australian culture. Set to premiere on Kayo Sports and Foxtel with each Test match in the series, this 5-part, 15-minute series will take fans deep into the world of Six & Out. Through exclusive interviews with band members Brett Lee, Gavin Robertson, Richard Chee Quee, Brad McNamara, and Shane Lee, as well as conversations with music icons and cricket personalities, viewers will experience a rare look into the world of cricket and music.
The documentary also showcases never-before-seen footage of the band during rehearsals and on tour, emphasizing the passion, camaraderie, and energy they bring both on the cricket field and on stage. This innovative documentary is more than just a celebration of a band; it’s a reflection on the convergence of cricket and music in Australian culture.
“Getting back on stage with Six & Out and sharing our journey in this documentary feels like a tribute to the fans who’ve stood by us,” said Brett Lee, Fox Cricket expert and Six & Out band member. “Thanks to McDonald’s and the team at Balboa, we’re giving fans a look at our story, our love for music and cricket, and the thrill of coming together again. We can’t wait for everyone to join us on this journey on Kayo and Foxtel.”
Fans can experience the thrill live on November 15 at Sydney Coliseum, with additional Six & Out performances scheduled in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Melbourne throughout the Test series. Tickets for the Sydney Coliseum Summer of Cricket preview event are available at premier.ticketek.com.au.
Six & Out: Second Innings will air in 5 episodes on Kayo Sports and Foxtel, accompanying each Test match of the Border-Gavaskar series, bringing audiences closer to the legacy of Six & Out and their undeniable place in Australia’s cricketing heritage.
