The Victorian Department of Education launches new ‘Teach the Future’ teacher recruitment campaign via Assemble Agency

The Victorian Department of Education has launched a refreshed campaign via creative agency Assemble, as part of a state-wide recruitment effort to boost the number of teachers working in Victorian Government schools.

Featuring Victorian primary and secondary school students as the voices of the recruitment drive, the “Teach the Future” campaign aims to encourage more people to consider teaching as a rewarding career that makes a difference.

Whether considering a study pathway or switching professions, the campaign promotes incentives available for people to start their teaching careers. These include scholarships, financial supports when completing placements in regional areas, and employment-based degrees to get people into the classroom faster.

The benefits of a teaching career include positively impacting the lives of many young people, competitive salaries, and career growth opportunities. Teachers are currently in demand, and there are opportunities to work all across Victoria.

The campaign will be supported by real-life anecdotes from past and present students sharing experiences about teachers who have made an impact in their lives, as well as student-teacher Q&As about what teaching is like in real life.

The campaign was produced by Victorian creatives at Assemble Agency and Poppet, with award-winning director Lizzy Bailey and creative director Paul Hermes—music by Melbourne band NO ZU.

Featuring a 30-second TVC and social cutdowns, the campaign will run across BVOD, YouTube, OOH, Meta, TikTok, digital audio, print, and radio.

Says Sarah Munday, managing director, Assemble Agency: “We all know how important a good teacher can be in our lives. In this campaign, students are front and centre, calling for good teachers. It’s a fresh, unexpected and memorable way to list the benefits of teaching and highlight how meaningful a teaching career can be.

“Working with local teams to produce this campaign and using a Melbourne-based band for the music has been a great way to produce a campaign that speaks to Victorians.”
