Australian Turf Club Partners with Hype Republic + Studio Squeak for Sydney Everest Carnival spot

Following on from the success of the ‘Expect It All’ Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival campaign, Australian Turf Club has once again teamed up with Hype Republic and Studio Squeak to unveil its latest campaign for the highly anticipated Sydney Everest Carnival.

 

The Sydney Everest Carnival is not just a series of races; it’s the premier social event of the season, featuring nine spectacular race days over eight weeks, starting in September.

The new online and TV campaign captures the excitement and energy of thoroughbred racing through a dynamic blend of live action and animation. Creative direction and post-production were spearheaded by Gold Coast-based content production studio Hype Republic, who collaborated with Brisbane’s Studio Squeak for the striking animation.

Says Ian Anderson, animation director at Studio Squeak: “Building on the momentum from last year’s campaign, we’ve enhanced our creative approach to highlight the new Peacock Lounge and incorporate evolved animation elements. Our process included storyboarding, styleframes, previs, and a combination of traditional hand-drawn and 3D animation. Working with Hype Republic, we achieved a vintage-inspired aesthetic with a lively animation style that seamlessly integrates with the live-action footage. We always look forward to collaborating with the hype team.”

Says Camille Cannings, post-production producer at Hype Republic: “Our team at Hype Republic worked closely with Studio Squeak to blend real footage with engaging animation, bringing this campaign to life.
