Bunnings claims top spot in YouGov’s 2024 Best Brand Rankings Australia
Household hardware and garden chain Bunnings has claimed Australia’s top spot in YouGov’s annual Best Brand Rankings, with a score of 49.2. Google and Cadbury took the second and third place positions, achieving scores of 46.2 and 46.0 respectively.
These rankings are based on YouGov BrandIndex’s Index score: a measure of overall brand health calculated by taking the average of impression, quality, value, satisfaction, recommend and reputation.
Colgate came in at fourth, with 45.7, while automotive manufacturer Toyota claimed the fifth spot, scoring 44.6.
Following the top five came Samsung, with a score of 44.4, streaming platform YouTube (41.4), and online payment company PayPal (41.4). Rounding out the top ten was consumer electronics retailer JB Hi-Fi with a score of 41.2 and Weet-Bix, at tenth with 40.8.
YouGov’s BrandIndex also measured the top ten most improved brands over the past year. Australian skincare brand QV was the most improved, with an increased score of +4.0 points.
Social media platform Facebook (+3.4) and online travel agency Booking.com (+3.3) were next on the most improved list. Following was multinational technology company Amazon (+3.1), and automotive manufacturer Toyota (+2.8) rounding out the top five.
Instant messaging platform Whatsapp, also achieved an improved score of +2.8. Following came buy now, pay later platform Pay in 4 (by PayPal) with +2.5, and Qatar Airways and P&O cruises, both with a score of +2.3.
Rounding out the top ten was skincare brand Nivea (the December Winner of YouGov’s Biggest Brand Movers) with an improved score of +2.2.
