VMLY&R leads the pack at finalist stage of 2023 BADC Awards; The General Store CCO Marcus Tesoriero named chair of judges

Finalists for the 2023 BADC Awards have been announced with VMLY&R leading the pack with 26 finalists, followed by Publicis Worldwide with 18, Engine with 17, Khemistry with 10 finalists and CHEP with eight.

Brisbane’s creative community will unleash its creative might once again at The Brisbane Advertising and Design Club’s annual gala awards night – Talent You Can’t Fake – on Saturday November 11 to celebrate the best of Brisbane’s creative industry.

The 2023 BADC Awards, proudly sponsored by 3P Studio, will be held at the Fortitude Music Hall. This sold-out event is the most anticipated night of the year for Brisbane’s creative scene with over 450 people attending. Independent production agency Light + Shade will once again sponsor the After Party.

The 2023 Awards Finalists and Judging Panels have now been released and can be found on the Club’s website www.badc.com.au.

The 2023 judging panel, made up of some of the country’s best creative talent, has been busy assessing a very strong field of entries.

Leading the way as 2023 chair of judges is Marcus Tesoriero (pictured above), chief creative officer of The General Store. With a stellar track record, Tesoriero’s work has garnered accolades at renowned global award shows such as D&AD, One Show, Clio, LIA, the Effies, London IPA for Effectiveness, Spikes, and the prestigious Cannes Lions.

Says Stuart Myerscough, president, BADC: “We’re continually amazed at the quality of entries that are received each year. The dedication to quality and powerful messaging has really shone through again.

“45 judges in all gave their time and consideration to judge the best work of 2023 and we are thrilled to announce the finalists.”

Says Tesoriero: “There are plenty of big names in the BADC judging panel this year so it was an honour heading it up as chair of judges. There was a stack of great work to discuss, and our judges all had plenty to say. Everyone connected together well to make unified, well-informed decisions. It’s always a great experience judging the BADCs. Katrine Bowman and her team are lovely people and I look forward to talking at the big night in Brisbane on the 11th, unveiling the BADC 2023 Best in Show.”

Post production studio 3P Studio signed up earlier this year as major sponsor for the 2023 BADC Awards. Located at its brand-new purpose-built premises in Milton, 3P Studio boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including seven editing suites, three sound suites, two recording booths, and an impressive array of 30 VFX and animation stations.

The BADC awards are Brisbane’s only creative advertising and design awards. Further information is available from www.badc.com.au
