Uniting WA leads by example with Homelessness Week outdoor campaign via &Partners
Uniting WA and &Partners have used an outdoor campaign in Yagan Square to offer messages of support to people experiencing homelessness during Homelessness Week. The campaign also provides an opportunity for those not experiencing homelessness to donate at unitingwa.org.au.
Uniting WA is Western Australia’s second largest community services organisation and runs several facilities for people experiencing homelessness in and around Perth.
Demand for crisis support at Uniting WA’s Tranby Engagement Hub has more than doubled in the past year, and roughly one third of people presenting for support are new to homelessness.
Communications and Engagement Senior Manager, Jessica Brodie-Hall, said: “Right now, housing supply and the cost of living are bringing homelessness closer to people who may have previously felt like it would never happen to them. Yet there’s still a discomfort around rough sleepers. This series of messages created by our friends at &Partners affords these people the dignity they deserve. We love the fact that the messages speak directly to people experiencing homelessness, with compassion and respect. It’s a wonderful embodiment of our values at Uniting WA.”
The seven messages are running across the Yagan Square tower over Homelessness Week. If you’d like to help the people you see sleeping rough in our Perth community, please donate at unitingwa.org.au

How prevalent is homelessness in Yagan Square? Not from Perth but interested in knowing more.
There are a lot of people sleeping rough in the area. Actually, right below the billboard there’s a seating area where folks have a rest and a chat in the day.
These are just headlines… what’s the campaign here?
the headlines address the homeless, yet the CTA talks to those they want to donate towards the cause – who are we talking to here and hoping to achieve?
Thanks, Dav. Good to see it’s visible for the community it’s designed to help. Cheers
