Bounty Banana: A Summertime Cocktail duo sign with Playground

Playground is now serving up the talented French directing and animation duo Bounty Banana in Australia and New Zealand.
Bounty Banana (Steven Briand and Julien Jourdain De Muizon) create an eclectic mix of animation and live performance, and have brought energy and humour to internationally renowned clients, such as Givenchy, Hermès, Veuve Clicquot, Playstation, Vice, Air Berlin and more.
Their work is a wonderfully intoxicating blend of wry humour, animation and live performance. With an ability to incorporate various animation styles into stories and characters, adding an unexpected emotional layer to their storytelling. Whether that be stop-frame, illustrative, figurative, or live action.

Says Nick Garner, producer, Playground: “Not only are they super talented animators and directors, they’re lovely folk. The idea of them working on shore here had the guys checking their passports.”
Also of note, the duo believe in experimentation and invest in their own ideas and creativity, evident in a short piece they recently created for themselves; INTENSITY. It’s a wild and crazy ride, shows what they can bring to the creativity from elsewhere, and says more than any words here could ever get close to.

Busy fellows, their show Supa Supa has gathered more than 1.8 million views worldwide, soon to have their work in the upcoming Ubisoft/Netflix show called “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix” and their animation for Vice featuring Die Antwoord’s story on how he met Kanye and Drake is pure gold teeth.
It has to be asked, what is a Bounty Banana?
Says Julien Jourdain De Muizon: “Being both mixed blood, we thought it would be fun to tease ourselves with the expressions “bounty” (black outside/white inside) and “banana” (yellow outside/white inside). The combination sounded like some sort of a summertime cocktail, so we just went for it.”
Working remotely, or here in the neighbourhood, the duo are super excited by the potential for creative interactions downunder.
