Creative directors Dan Flynn and Adam Vella launch new design studio Standard Projects
Creative Directors Dan Flynn and Adam Vella have started Standard Projects—a design studio focused on creating beautiful work at scale.
With a large body of work between them, Flynn and Vella have worked with some of the design industry’s biggest names, from Spin in London to Moniker in San Francisco and MAUD in Sydney, where the pair met. They share an affinity for rigorous, ideas-based design and meticulous execution across projects of all shapes and sizes.
Says Flynn: “We started the studio with a bit of a total design philosophy. Strategy, brand, digital and tech all under one roof. These disciplines are often siloed and it negatively impacts the quality of the outcome.”
Says Vella: “We love designing for the web and have a real knack for building brands. Not many places can do both. There are some great digital studios with little brand knowledge and some amazing brand studios that really struggle with designing for the web.”
Standard Projects combines Flynn and Vella’s passion for digital and brand design, while addressing this global gap in the market, which is particularly acute in Australia.
Well versed in delivering work across multiple mediums both online and offline, Flynn and Vella focus on strategy and design, bringing in specialist engineers to deliver experiences. Standard Projects was founded in February 2022 (with two newborns in tow) and has offices in Sydney and Melbourne.
