Reach launches the 7×7 Challenge with digital fundraising campaign via Trout Creative Thinking
Melbourne-based creative agency Trout Creative Thinking has partnered with youth focused not-for-profit Reach to launch the 7×7 Challenge (24-30 October): a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign that encourages young people and adults to experience the power of vulnerability while raising money for the foundation’s important work.
Trout worked with Reach’s facilitators to develop the 7×7 Challenge, which invites participants to undertake 7 different personal growth challenges over 7 days, sharing the experience and seeking donations via social media.
The 7×7 concept aims to address an ongoing challenge faced by Reach to translate the impact and significance of their work, without an individual participating in one of its 1000+ workshops held annually. It was critical for this year’s fundraiser to draw on unique activities taken from Reach’s social and emotional wellbeing workshops, to give participants a taste of the Reach effect from wherever they are.
Funds raised through the campaign will allow Reach to continue its vital work connecting and empowering young people, so they can navigate life’s challenges and thrive. At present Reach works with over 50,000 young people annually to develop a sense of social belonging, have breakthrough conversations and build emotional resilience.
Having experienced first-hand Reach’s workshops, hosted by young people who have benefitted from the group’s programs, Trout worked with Reach’s facilitators to capture and extend the magic of the organisation through the Challenge. Trout designed the 7×7 challenge concept and campaign creative including brand identity, social extension, social media content, partnership ideas, digital assets, and website design.
Says Lachie McKernan, general manager, Trout: “We’re always looking for opportunities to tap into issues and causes that at are important to our team. We first came in to contact with Reach through our connection with the Reece Group and immediately identified an opportunity where our team can participate in purposeful work that makes a sportive difference into our communities. Working with Reach has been an incredibly rewarding and meaningful experience.”
Says Stephanie Say, head of marketing and communications, Reach: “Working alongside Trout to develop this exciting and engaging fundraising challenge has helped bring thousands more Australians closer to understanding the impact of our vital work, while taking steps towards improving their own mental health. We are so grateful for the support from the inspiring and talented creatives at Trout who helped bring this campaign to life!”
