Smith and Western appoints Abby Dorrian as Head of New Business Development
Smith and Western has appointed Abby Dorrian as its Head of New Business Development following a period of growth for the Sydney based Music & Sound Design Studio.
Having previously hired Dorrian in the booth for VO sessions, founders Dan Higson and Nick West were certain they’d found the asset they’d been searching for to pursue even further growth for the boutique house in sonic branding, music composition and audio production.
Says West: “Abby is the perfect fit to join the Smith and Western team. She has a fantastic energy and loads of experience in the advertising industry, both in Australia at Mint and in the UK where she worked for Sweetshop for five years.”
Says Dorrian: “Smith and Western are the original crafters of sonic identities, music and sound in the region. With experience in New Business and having voiced around the entire circuit of studios in Australia and London, it is abundantly obvious there’s something special about Smith & Western and their bespoke suite of offerings to clients. Not to mention a stable full of mischief and fun.
“The creative chemistry is electric at Smith and Western, they create outstanding sonic solutions and are focused on substance over indulgence. True enablers of your story. I’m thrilled to be joining the ranch at a time when audio renaissance is setting in. I look forward to building and strengthening relationships in the industry on their behalf.”
“We really wanted someone who understands the creative business and shares the same passion for great work that we do. It’s great to have a new gun on the Smith and Western team!” adds Higson.
