Taxi Film Production partners with Airbnb and BBC Studios to recreate the iconic house from global children’s hit show Bluey
Taxi Film Production can finally reveal (after months of hard work) the lifesize recreation of Bluey’s house as seen on ABC, BBC Studios and Disney+. Commissioned by Airbnb, the house will be made available for one lucky family to enjoy a rather unique overnight stay.
Overseen and run by Taxi’s senior producer and all-round gun Imogen Dick, it took a colossal team and enormous effort to bring fiction to life.
Nestled on a quiet, tree-lined street in one of Brisbane’s most picturesque neighbourhoods – the city which has inspired the show’s colourful backdrop – the house has been entirely customised to bring the cartoon experience to life, featuring quirky details Bluey fans will recognise from the Heeler family home in the show. Acknowledging that the project was outside of the “traditional production scope”, Taxi Film Production’s executive producer and managing director, Andrew Wareham recognises that the brief required “many a solution in our production toolbox” to bring the bespoke project together for the Airbnb and BBC Studios clients.
Says Wareham: “These are the briefs we thrive off and where the scale of our business comes into play, as we can call upon all the resources needed to make the project a grand success. Given this Airbnb installation was literally in our backyard, we wanted to do Bluey and Queenslander’s proud.”
From the moment guests step on to the front lawn, they’ll be transported to Bluey’s imaginative world as they spot familiar touches like the red letterbox, bone-shaped chimney, and charming bay window. Inside, the interior has been re-imagined with a breezy Mid-Century aesthetic coupled with playful pops of colour. The girls’ playroom with its signature rainbow canopy, kiwi rug and numerous toys – including Bluey’s beloved Chattermax toy and magic xylophone – is the ultimate setting for creative play and make believe.
Bluey is a global phenomenon that follows the adventures of Bluey – a loveable, inexhaustible six-year-old Blue Heeler dog – who lives with her Mum (Chilli), Dad (Bandit) and little sister Bingo. The show screens in over 60 countries and is beloved by both parents and kids for its heart, humour and relatable family moments.
Bookings are available on a first come first serve basis. Bluey fans can request to book this stay on Tuesday, February 15 at 8:00 AM AEDT at airbnb.com/bluey. To request to book, guests must have a verified Airbnb profile, a history of positive reviews and be aged 18+. Airbnb is committed to ensuring each stay is a positive experience for guests, Hosts and local neighbourhood communities.

and non-ad world people will too.
Kids are going to go apeshit.
What a fabulous idea!
Been saying it for years, Brisbane is on the up.
…real life!
I walk or drive past this everyday and every single time I do I see kids with faces like split watermelons because they are so excited! This has created so much joy 👏👏👏
This is very cool indeed. But I’m scratching my head as to why so much effort, energy and money was put in for a one night stay for one family?
