Nine creatives selected to represent Australia on the D&AD Awards 2022 juries

D&AD today announced the jury members that will preside over the judging of the organisation’s 2022 Awards programme, including leading creative thinkers from the APAC region.

Nine people will represent Australia on the jury including:
Digital Jury President:
Tara Ford, Chief Creative Officer, The Monkeys
Digital Jury:
Patrycja Lukjanow, Creative Director, Freelance

Media Jury President:
Virginia Hyland, CEO, Havas Media Australia

Sound Design & Use of Music Jury President:
Abigail Sie, Sound Supervisor & Sound Designer, Song Zu

Sound Design & Use of Music Jury:
Lydia Davies, Music Composer & Producer, Squeak E Clean Studios

Digital Design Jury:
Camilla Mazzaferro, Head of Entertainment & Executive Producer, FINCH
David Jackson, National Executive Creative Director, Tribal DDB

Branding Jury:
Mick Boston, design leader, Lion

Creative Transformation Jury:
Ritu David, Founder, The Data Duck

This year’s jury features some of APAC’s biggest and brightest names, such as Yah-Leng Yu (Creative Director & Principal, Foreign Policy Design Group), Kainaz Karmakar (Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy), Ayano Takase (Graphic Designer, TKSING) and Shiho Fukuhara (Artist, Technology Integration Lead, Google) – each of whom represent the breadth of creative potential that D&AD seeks to celebrate through its awards. They will be in charge of reviewing and recognising exceptional work created within the past year in the belief that platforming creative thinking is always worthwhile.

Following the success of past virtual editions, D&AD will continue its digital-first approach to the 2022 awards to guarantee the safety of its members, jury, and participants. D&AD’s distinguished jurors will once again assemble virtually to review the work, holding each piece to the same high standards that the awards are renowned for. The only exceptions are the Book Design, Graphic Design, Magazine & Newspaper Design, Packaging Design and Product Design categories, where in-person judging is essential.

Says Donal Keenan, awards director at D&AD: “Now in its 60th year, the D&AD Awards have grown to incorporate more than 40 categories judged by a cohort of nearly 400 of the world’s leading creative minds. Each year, our Judges ensure that the awards maintain the highest possible standard for judging, making it one of the ultimate creative accolades. Their expertise and insight will be invaluable when determining this year’s winners and which innovative, creative work will stand the test of time and inspire a global community of creative thinkers.”
