Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne promotes Joe Heath to the role of head of strategy

Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne has announced the promotion of planning director Joe Heath to the role of head of strategy, effective immediately.
Says Alex Speakman, chief strategy officer, Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne: “Joe has excelled in his role over the past four-plus years leading the strategy for Toyota, playing a key role in the development of iconic work and helping to lift the level of strategic thinking across the board at the agency. More than that, Joe has become an integral part of the agency leadership team.”
Before joining Saatchi & Saatchi, Heath was at CHE Proximity where he was director of innovation, and prior to that, he worked in planning departments across Clemenger BBDO, AMV BBDO London and BBH London.
The appointment further strengthens the agency’s integrated strategy department, with Speakman to remain as chief strategy officer in Melbourne and Heath leading a strategy team across brand, retail, digital, social, innovation planning and CX.
Says Georgia Jones, general manager, Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne: “Joe is one of the best strategists I have had the pleasure of working with. His deep and varied experience gives him a unique perspective that makes him not only a fantastic department lead but also an incredible partner for our clients.
“Between Joe, Alex and the wider team, I feel confident we have one of the most formidable strategy departments in the country.”
