From Our Family To Yours: Disney partners with New Zealand based studio Flux Animation to create a heartwarming tale of family traditions
Disney has released its global Christmas ad—a touching, 3-minute animated short film that tells the story of the bond between a grandmother and her granddaughter, along with the traditions that connect them through the years.
The spot, developed in house and animated by Flux, is titled “From Our Family to Yours” and has been launched across 26 markets in EMEA, as well as in North America, New Zealand, Australia and some parts of Asia.
It shows a grandmother as a child being given a Mickey Mouse toy by her father in 1940 and regifting it to her own granddaughter many years later.

The aging grandmother appears nostalgic and reflective as she thinks back to her own childhood and embraces the toy—a connection to her past. In a bid to cheer her up, the granddaughter secretly decorates her home with the festive decorations of her grandmother’s childhood as she sleeps upstairs.
The campaign also marks the 40th year of partnership between Disney and the nonprofit Make-A-Wish®, , and the brand is selling vintage-inspired Mickey Mouse soft toys, like the one that appears in the ad, for charity.

It is also releasing a charity single by U.K. singer Griff, titled “Love Is a Compass” in support of Make-A-Wish, with proceeds from streaming and sales being donated until the end of December.
In addition, Disney said it would make a donation to the charity each time a family shared their own festive memories on social media with the hashtag #LoveFromDisney.
Says Tasia Filippatos, SVP at Disney EMEA: “Christmas is a time for giving and giving back, and we’re delighted to debut this festive ad campaign supporting our long-term charity partner Make-A-Wish. Our goal was to tell a universal story that inspires through the themes of family, love and special holiday traditions.”

Can CB please use their power to enforce credits of the artists? A “studio” can’t make this without names and butts in seats. “Animation: Flux Animation Studio” what kind of credit is this? The “media planners” are all named but the people who actually CRAFTED this are not? Come on. Absolutely disgusted this continues every time a post-heavy job is PR’d.
i couldn’t agree more. Beautiful work. The team deserves some recognition.

Returning here and sad to see no credits are added. CB, this should be a requirement of publish. No credits, no post. You have huge industry influence here and the power not only to do good, but to help drive change in this industry for the better. It might indeed take some additional emails over the next months until people get used to this, but very soon people will know to include this info as default, and we will all be better off for it. CB, please consider.
