Hooves director Alethea Jones teams up with Jason Segel for AMC’s ‘Dispatches From Elsewhere’

Australian comedy directing juggernaut, Alethea Jones, continues her run of high profile TV shows in the US with the AMC premiere of Jason Segel’s Dispatches from Elsewhere.

Starring Segel, Richard E. Grant, Andre Benjamin (Andre 3000) and Sally Field, the anthology series is darker than Jones’ usual comedic work on shows such as Lodge 49, Wrecked and Dollface, and it was something she was excited to explore.

Says Jones: “Even in my comedy work I’m always drawn to stories with elevated imaginative elements, and that’s what drew me to this show. I love comedy and it’s my wheelhouse, but beneath all genres is story and that’s what I’m most interested in.”

Says John Pace, creative partner, HOOVES: “Alethea has quickly developed a reputation as a gold-standard actor’s director and this project with Jason Segel is further proof of that.

“She has worked with and directed a formidable list of A-grade talent including Paul Rudd, Margot Robbie, Adam Scott, Anne Hathaway, Kat Dennings and many more. We can’t wait to see what she brings to commercial projects, especially those featuring big name talent.”
