The West Australian Ballet promotes its ‘Light & Shadow’ series with new press ads via Meerkats
Meerkats and The West Australian have worked together to create a captivating print campaign promoting Light and Shadow: Ballet at the Quarry series by the West Australian Ballet.
The idea is brought to life over two mirrored pages, casting a shadowy silhouette of a dancer onto the page.
Suzanne Beecroft, marketing director of the West Australian Ballet said of the idea: “WAB really wanted to showcase this seasons design and photography in our first piece of advertising for 2020 along with bringing the name of the Quarry Season to life. The idea Meerkats presented captured the sheer beauty and athleticism of ballet and I couldn’t think of a better way to express ‘Light and Shadow’ better.
“We all loved the concept and The West Australian and Meerkats team worked hard to make the colours and concept come to life across the two pages. A simple idea, perfectly executed in a medium that continues to work extremely well for us.”

Yup, sure. Good.
This is beautiful. Arts marketing can be hard going at times – but this will arrest attention. Great use of the medium, congrats all.
I absolutely love this, very clever and a great example of complementary media and creative
Why does it have to be a male holding up a female?
Ever seen the ballet?
I’m on the floor. Maybe you could pick me up?
