Figment Technology (FGMNT), developers of the SITU360 VR platform, has announcef that ex-DDB, Mango Melbourne managing director, Gary Wilson has joined as chief strategy officer, tasked with further growth and strategic development.

SITU360 is an award winning next-gen communications tool for creators of 360° video and VR, It allows users to create, share and publish immersive VR and 360 experiences in minutes. SITU360 has a growing number of global, international and local clients.

Says Nick Wright CEO and founder: “We met Gary last year whilst he was mentor with ACMI’s inaugural Xcelerator programme and from the get-go there was an understanding of the technology, the opportunities for SITU360 and what we are trying to achieve as a business. Now with a fully mature product in SITU360, we find new, relevant verticals coming online. So, it became clear that we needed further in-house expertise to help us scale, focus on the significant opportunities and take us to the next level.”

In addition to his previous role at DDB/Mango Melbourne, Wilson has a successful career in the tech space having previously worked for growth marketing agencies in London working for global brands like Intel, Acer and Philips as well as supporting successful start-ups like mophie, feeligreen and a host of b2b and b2c brands.

Says Wilson: “I’ve always enjoyed working with CEOs and founders where the passion for their technology is infectious and drives the business forward. I get that with Nick and Jamie. Jamie and Nick are exactly what you look for in founders. They are super passionate and experts in their field. They have complementary skills and they’re bloody nice guys too! Additionally, in SITU360, they’ve developed a great product that has huge potential across interesting vertical sectors with the rise and rise and broader take-up of 360 video and VR in business.”

Says Jamie Daou, CCO and co-founder, FGMNT: “From a marketing and commercial perspective, it’s great that Gary joins at this time of exciting growth for FGMNT.
