Worksafe Tasmania launches new asbestos awareness campaign via Freelance Skelton
With the next wave of asbestos-related diseases predicted to come from the growing DIY home renovator market, WorkSafe Tasmania has launched a coordinated state-wide TV, radio, press, billboard and online awareness and education campaign, created by Hobart-based advertising consultancy Freelance Skelton.
The ‘Safest Tool’ campaign encourages DIY renovators and professional tradespeople to be cautious when renovating older properties, and to use their mobile phone to access the WorkSafe Tasmania website if they’re in any doubt about the site they’re working at.
Says Lance Skelton, creative director, Freelance Skelton: “Congratulations to WorkSafe Tasmania for getting on the front foot with this important campaign. The campaign has helped to generate thousands of hits to the WorkSafe Tasmania website, plus there’s been a surge in specific asbestos-related enquiries to the 1300 number.”
