Giant bugs take over Melbourne Museum, part of campaign via Yoke, for new BugLab exhibition
Melbourne studio Yoke has launched a new campaign for Melbourne Museum to promote the new ‘Bug Lab: Little Bugs, Super Power’ exhibition which is a collaboration between the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and the five-time Academy Award winner Weta Workshop, better known for costumes and effects in The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.
A wasp that turns its victims into zombies, a beetle that fires boiling water from its abdomen or a swarm of bees that can cook their enemies alive – welcome to a world of incredible invertebrate at BugLab: Little Bugs, Super Powers.
The exhibition features ultra-detailed, large-scale models bringing visitors into the world of bugs for a close encounter of their superpower abilities including mind control, noxious chemicals and swarm intelligence.
Working closely with Museum Victoria’s internal brand and communications team, Yoke developed the campaign creative for the exhibition’s international debut in Melbourne and delivered an extensive through-the-line production rollout.
Says Kate Brereton, brand manager, family and education audiences at Museums Victoria: “Partnering with Yoke has allowed Museums Victoria to communicate the uniqueness of this exhibition via a visually stunning communications approach that has resonated strongly with Melbourne audiences.”
The exhibition is showing until October with more than 150,000 visitors expected.
