TBWA drops the Whybin name in Sydney and Auckland; Melbourne office soon to follow?

The Whybin\TBWA name is no more, at least in Sydney and Auckland, but it appears the web administrator in Melbourne, where Whybin\TBWA started as Whybin Dery Barnes back in 1992, has yet to catch up.
The logo has changed on the Sydney and Auckland web pages, but Melbourne has yet to do so. Perhaps it’s due to the latter’s lingering respect for their founder, who departed the group in April?
An official announcement of the name change has yet to come through, although CB suspects it’s something they don’t really want to make a big fuss about.

It makes sense, since Whybin has left the building(s).
I tell you now, there is little respect for their founder in Melbourne – stupid though, if it wasn’t for him there wouldn’t be offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.
Whybin drove the growth of that agency from day one and certainly in Melbourne, remained a huge part of any new business acquistions. He was not always in the agency but his culture made that agency work and be the special place it was – to clients as well as employees.
Maybe Scott asked for his name to be dropped after seeing the woeful Virgin Mobile work from Sydney?
Correction, if it wasn’t for Neil Lawrence there wouldn’t be an office in Sydney.
I used to admire TBWA, particularly Tequila. Now it’s neither exceptionally good or particularly bad.
It should do a Prince and change its name to the \ symbol.
That’d be perfect for a now middle of the road agency.
Yes, but Scott put Neil there.
Whybin saved Sydney, Lawrence wanted to sell his shareholding when the business wasn’t tracking well, Scott bought him out and saved the business and grew it from that point. Scott is the brand builder on both sides of the fence. The agency is his brand, that’s why they want to change it. He built this business from scratch to one of the largest in the country bases on local business, not the non-profitable multi-nationally aligned accounts. Now watch the roller coaster ride of another culturelless group.
First point is; that Whybin built all offices, he saved Sydney, Lawrence wanted to sell his shareholding when the business wasn’t tracking well, Scott bought him out and saved the business and grew it from that point.
2. Scott is the brand builder on both sides of the fence. The agency is his brand, that’s why they want to change it.

Dear Truth,
Not all local business – his TBWA partnership gave him Nissan.
But, apart from that, everything else is true.
Scott built Melbourne, saved Sydney and drove Auckland.
No Scott, no ANZ.
No Scott, no ANZ throughout Asia
No Scott, no Nissan
No Scott, no big Govt business
He built a good team, but he was the lifeblood of the agency.
Few appreciate the relationships he formed and the hole he will
leave.
Yes, yes, but what is he doing now?
I think Melbourne is not yet motivated to change its logo on webpages. Or there might be some other hidden niche that we are not able to realize.
Nissan was won by Scott when he was not aligned to TBWA, TBWA did not give NIssan to Scott, he won it when he was an independent agency, TBWA came to Scott to acquire shares in his agency because he had Nissan.
