QBE Insurance Australia channels Blondie’s ‘Call Me’ hit song in latest campaign via Core, Sydney
Independent creative agency Core has channelled Blondie’s hit song ‘Call Me’ as the inspiration for an integrated campaign on behalf of QBE Insurance Australia, highlighting the insurer’s 100% commitment to customers.
Reworking the American rock band’s 1980s number one classic, Core has again used premium animation, which has become synonymous with the QBE brand.
The campaign includes 30 and 15 second TVC and radio spots, OOH, digital, social, search and internal communications and encourages potential customers to call or click QBE for their home and car insurance.
Says Christian Finucane, founder and creative partner at Core: “Call Me is an anthemic song and brings to life QBE’s ongoing commitment to their customers. We’re delighted with the outcome.”
Says Bettina Pidcock, executive general manager marketing at QBE: “We are focussed on providing great value insurance and this campaign reinforces that in an energetic and joyful way.”

The only thing worse than this is Blondie’s ‘rap’ in Rapture.
Can I have it back, please?
lazy thinking as usual
Didn’t mind it at all. Good job core.
OMG, hate the ad, have my car insurance with QBE but if I didn’t, I think the ad would put me off. Mute it every time I hear it now. Just doesn’t seem very professional !
an insulting abomination
this ad is so damn annoying and has genuinely put me off using QBE
Our family just love and enjoy listening to the song , my 4 year old boy’s favorite , he even sings along. We dont seem to get enough of it.
The song is damn annoying, can u stop it now cause its being played so much its not even funny
As soon as I hear the awful music and that whiny voice – “Call me” I grab the remote and mute the sound – I cannot stand to hear it for a second !!
– I will NEVER choose QBE as a result of this advertisement. And, separate to my own personal dislike, my 16 year old son is equally frustrated whenever we hear that advertisement & music
Does she sing you can call me on a ???soosay??? Line?
It feels like I’m being tortured every time I hear this hideous advertisement – arghh!! How much longer is this awful ad campaign going to last?
OMG this ad is sooooo annoying!!! When does that campaign end???
This advert causes my blood pressure to rise and I think I’ll sue QBE for pain and suffering if anything serious happens. I LOVE the Food Network channel but this ad really spoils the enjoyment – STOP IT NOW – PLEASE !!!!
Please get rid of this ANNOYING ad NOW!!!!!!
Yes get rid of it PRONTO !!!!!
This song makes me mute the ad and I will actually not go with QBE because of this. Bad song, very bad singer and just too frequent and annoying.
Yes mute the ad is all you can do. But we are now into mid November and that goddam , bloody ad is still running! ENOUGH!
P-L-E-A-S-E stop running this advert. It’s hurting my brain every fricken time I hear it and it spoils my enjoyment of the SBS Food Channel because the frequency is way too often.
Great song great singer
It’s now the year 2036 and the ad still plays the very same with no change or update!!!
