The Children’s Cancer Institute asks Aussies to celebrate unique children to launch its new personalised medicine program via The Royals
Australians probably don’t know that they have a photo hidden somewhere that could help put an end to childhood cancer.
To celebrate childhood cancer awareness month and the launch of The Children’s Cancer Institute’s Personalised Medicine program – treatment as unique as the children it’s designed to help – The Children’s Cancer Institute have launched a campaign celebrating the uniqueness of every child via The Royals.
Over 12,000 people – including celebrities like Megan Gale, 5SOS, Tim Rogers, The Sunrise 7 team, Fitzy and Wippa and Anthony Minichiello – have already uploaded photos of their own unique childhood using the #IwasAUniqueChild tag.
Valuable awareness has been created for the cause but now the Children’s Cancer Institute is asking all Aussies to turn that awareness into funds.
At iwasauniquechild.org.au people can create their own personalised merchandise – a mug, tote bag or mousepad – branded with their unique childhood photo. All profits from the sale of the merchandise will go to helping find a cure for childhood cancer.
Says Nick Cummins, creative partner, The Royals: This is a campaign that we’re immensely proud of. We’ve already had thousands of photos’ uploaded from local and international celebrities, musicians, actors, business leaders, politicians, models and the general public alike. The Children’s Cancer institute is an amazing organisation filled to the brim with incredible people fighting to cure Children’s cancer. Most of us in the advertising industry were unique children, so dig up that special photo and help us out.”
