Over 500 of MediaCom’s clients + media partners gather at its annual MediaCom Unplugged event
On Thursday 14th February, MediaCom hosted over 500 clients and media partners respectively at the agency’s annual MediaCom Unplugged event. Held in Luna Park overlooking Sydney’s beautiful harbour, this year’s event was bigger and better as the agency welcomed it’s NSW based clients to showcase how MediaCom can drive growth for their brands in 2019 and beyond.
Yet another extraordinary success this year, MediaCom Unplugged was created to take partners on a journey deep into the heart of the organisation by sharing a great deal of information on what MediaCom stands for, it’s offerings, opportunities, it’s structure and business challenges; information that would ultimately help partners work more closely with the agency throughout 2019 in order to deliver first class media solutions.
Over the course of the day, guests were taken through an array of immersive experiences (some of which were co-hosted by clients and media owners respectively) which showcased MediaCom’s 4 key departments; Retail, The Entertainment Division (TED), Travel & Dotcom and Property.
Says Ben McCallum, general manager, MediaCom Sydney: “At MediaCom, we firmly believe in being truly open and collaborative with our clients and media partners. MediaCom Unplugged is an opportunity for us all to look forward into 2019 and beyond at the challenges we will face collectively.
“Our media partners are the experts in their field, so we must work as closely as we can to unlock the greatest communication plans and media solutions for our clients. We have been on a phenomenal journey over the last few years and that will continue with our fantastic mix of clients, media partners and the best team of people to drive growth in all of Australia.”
Subsequent guest highlights of MediaCom Unplugged were the candid panel discussions featuring industry giants such as Carolyn Bollaci (Facebook), Caroline Oates (Google), Brendon Cook (oOh!Media), Toby Jenner (MediaCom), Angela Richards (KFC), Nicola Lewis (GroupM) and Willie Pang (MediaCom). Stealing the spotlight was MediaCom’s Young Guns panel moderated by Seven West Media’s Nat Harvey featuring the agency’s rising stars including Edwina Prothero, Katherine Pochroj, Cameron Roberts and Taufiq Zainal.
Says Alison Hearne, national marketing manager, Universal Pictures: “It’s always great to step outside the marketing bubble that we live in and to hear what our agencies and partners are having to say. It’s also a great opportunity to learn and to investigate what other potential partnerships there are working together in collaboration with MediaCom.
“It was fantastic how MediaCom incorporated their industry partners on the panel in the client session. It was great to hear what their point of view was on the trends for 2019 and to also see such a strong collaborative relationship between MediaCom and our key partners in the marketplace.”
Says Willie Pang, CEO of MediaCom Australia & New Zealand: “I’m incredibly proud of our team who truly showcased our #OneMediaCom spirit to make MediaCom Unplugged even bigger and better this year. Everyone’s passion shone through on the day, it was incredible to experience.
“At MediaCom, our aspiration is to be the engineer. Technology will play a significant role but it’s humans that will make the difference. We’ll continue to put our people first and we’ll achieve better results. We’re determined to build on the momentum from Unplugged to deliver on the promises that we’ve made to our partners.”
Ending the day on a high, MediaCom presented its annual Publisher Awards to celebrate the agency’s partnership with Sydney’s media. Voted for by MediaCom’s people, winners included:
