Rapid Films boosts talent with ex-The Feds’ director Craig Rasmus joining its ranks
Rapid Films has again accelerated its talent stable with the addition of director Craig Rasmus (left). Formerly with The Feds, the rise of Rasmus has consolidated his position as a creative visual storyteller hitting his straps and a director in demand.
The director forms the other half of a dynamic new team, joining Rapid’s recent appointment, former agency producer Rita Gagliardi.
With early experience assisting and as a young actor, as a director Rasmus brings a rounded and intuitive working style on set. His work is elegant, warm and centered firmly on personality-based narrative.
Notably, Rasmus’ work for Everlast was also his commercial directorial debut and netted him awards from Mobius, Adfest and the Australian Cinematographer’s Society.
The director believes this was a pivotal moment for him and feels the shift to Rapid is another such move.
Says Rasmus: “I’ve been friends with the guys here for some time and they’ve really made my joining them feel like a homecoming. It is such an energetic and fast paced company, full of people I respect. This move just felt incredibly right, and I know will be a significant one in my career.”
His most recent work is a forthcoming campaign for UNICEF and is the director’s striking and evocative first foray into animation/3D design.
Executive producer of Rapid Films, Susannah DiLallo said she had been impressed with his growth as a director over the last couple of years.
Says DiLallo: “He has clear vision with strong performance and narrative story telling. I knew he’d be a perfect fit with the team here. Aside from a unique skill set and killer ideas, the bonus is that he also happens to be one of the nicest people I know.”
