Engine creates two new films to promote the launch of the Emporium Melbourne via Joy
Engine and Joy have collaborated on a pair of animated films to promote the launch of the Emporium Melbourne retail precinct.
The films invite viewers to visually re-imagine the topics of ‘Fashion’ and ‘Food’, both of which represent key features of the revamped Emporium offering. They were designed, directed and animated in house by Engine utilising 2D & 3D animation techniques combined with live action elements and accompanied by a soundtrack created by Uncanny Valley.
Says Alistair Ferrier, Engine, executive producer: “We’ve had a blast working with Joy on this brief and are extremely proud of the beautiful films that have emerged from working with their team. The intent was to create original, visually stunning pieces that blended and blurred boundaries, challenging viewers perceptions of each featured subject.”
Says Mike Williamson, Engine, design director: “It was great working with such a brave agency and brave client. We were given a lot of freedom to explore the 2 themes in an abstract way and had fun working through each stage of the process. We had an amazing team working across the job so thanks to all involved.”
