288,000 jelly beans + 1.5m YouTube hits in 4 days for Kina Grannis’s new music video ‘In Your Arms’ directed by @radical.media’s Greg Jardin
@radical.media director Greg Jardin decided to do something unique with singer/songwriter Kina Grannis’s new music video “In Your Arms.”
From start to finish, the video features dozens of moving scenes made entirely of jelly beans.
The team created frame after frame and shot them in what is essentially a stop-motion music video. Grannis would then lay down on a piece of glass above the frame in odd but precise positions to get the scene just right.
22 months, 1357 hours, 30 people, 2 ladders, 1 camera and 288,000 jellybeans later and Jardin had produced a mind blowing music video.
In just the first 4 days of being uploaded to YouTube, the clip has received 1.5 million hits.
Having shot a commercial for Earth Hour in Sydney early this year, Jardin has been moving between the @radical.media Sydney and LA offices.

that is an awful lot of work for such a rubbish song.
Amazing work! well done.
Looks amazing…well done to those involved; but who pays for 22 months, 1357 hours, 30 people, 2 ladders, 1 camera not to mention 288,000 jellybeans?
Even if everyone’s time was donated for free (which would surely have had to be the case?! Surely?!), who waits almost two years for a video to be made for their single?
I think the work is absolutely incredible but I don’t get how you could promote an artist properly with those kind of timeframes.
hats off this is an incredible piece of animation
i’d kill for a client who’d give me the time, resources and trust to produce work as good
i reckon that after 22months of jelly beans it might be time for some skittles
“who waits almost two years for a video to be made for their single?”
I can answer you: A very intelligent and committed artist who knew exactly what needed to be done to get the video noticed. Almost 2 million views. 10,000 new Youtube subscriptions. Numerous blog mentions. All this in just a few days. And this video is going to attract views for years to come.

Well said Pete old chum!
