2022 CB HOT LIST #10: HOWATSON + COMPANY
There were several agencies that were included in the final shortlist for Campaign Brief Agency of the Year. In the lead-up to the AOY announcement, we profile those that made the 2022 CB Hot List…
It was a fast start for new agency Howatson+Company, with impressive work and new business wins in its first year.
Notable work included Belong ‘Book of limbo’, ‘It feels good to belong’, ‘A love song’, ‘Prawn’ and ‘NBN’; Tas Keno ‘Play on’, Plenti ‘Destroy your dreams’, Allianz ‘Open up’ and ‘Goodnight’, and Noshu ‘More love, less sugar’.
After only a year the agency has grown to 50 people, with offices in Sydney and Melbourne, $11m in revenue and $100m in media billings thanks to the foundation clients Belong, Allianz, QSuper and SunSuper. Clients added during 2021 included Qantas Loyalty, Inkl, Tas Keno, Noshu, Plenti, Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, QSuper, Oppo, Charter Hall, Matilda Bay, Federal Group, Hunter Premium Funding and Microsoft.
Each year the agency will be investing 15% of EBIT into a start-up business at Seed or Series A, every year for the next 30 years. The world is flush with capital, but few can combine capital with creativity. First investment: Inkl.
