ACP Magazines to rebrand as Bauer Media
Matthew Stanton, CEO of ACP Magazines, today announced that the company would rebrand as Bauer Media. The process, which starts today, will take a number of months with the rebrand completed early in the new year.
Says Stanton: “The decision to rebrand and change the company’s name is a natural transition following Bauer Media Group’s acquisition of ACP Magazines last month.
“ACP is now 100 per cent owned by Bauer Media and this includes all our businesses in Australia – ACP Magazines, ACP Custom Media and ACP Books, and the Trader Group – ACP Media New Zealand, and also ACP Asia, our off-shore interests in Hong Kong and Thailand.
“The purchase of Australasia’s leading publishing company by the internationally successful Bauer Media Group is both a resounding vote of confidence in the future of print media and endorsement of ACP’s outstanding magazine brands.
“As part of the Bauer Media family the company will extend its proud tradition of excellence, building on our strengths as we continue to innovate and develop across multiple platforms including digital editions, websites and licensed products.
“We have the best brands and the best people and I look forward to leading the company into a new era of success.”

I loved the Maggie T story – I think Maggie lived in Main St Richmond – when Maggie was 10, I was just born. I believe my Mother and Father either lived with or next door to the Trigar’s – it was just after the War had finished. Accommodation was tight and my parents rented a room. Apparently, I dropped a bar of soap into the pot that was cooking on their stove – I was not a popular boy at the time. I hope it was not when they were cooking that chicken Maggi talks about.
If Maggie remembers, my mum was Phyllis Bourke and father was Kevin. Mum only died about 3 years ago at the age of 98 and 3/4’s – she would have gone on longer only she ran out of all her friends and was keen to join them in heaven.
Once again just loved the part about Alf……Maggi’s Dad. My mum after spoke about the Trigars and Alf’s name was prominent so maybe she saw him riding his bike home.
PS. Many of the men at the time used to ride/weave their bikes home with a ‘kit-bag’ between the handle bars with 6 large bottles of beer safely tucked away. It was 6 o’clock closing back then. I distinctly remember a Police Chief riding past our place most nights with his kit-bag safely stashed.
Kindest regards
Peter Bourke
