VFX artist Eugene Richards joins ARC EDIT

ARC EDIT has added another talent to its growing team in the form of Eugene Richards, a well-known VFX artist and leader in the Australian post production world.

Joining new recruits Freya Maddock and Jo Scott, Richards will head up ARC’s offering in post and FX, joining an already outstanding roster of post-production talent working across their Melbourne and Sydney studios.

Having built up its reputation for storytelling across editorial, ARC has now evolved to offer a more rounded suite of offerings across both commercial and film. The hiring of Richards – whose wealth of experience includes the likes of The Lab Sydney, Digital Pictures and being co-owner of The Refinery VFX – allows the company to bring it all together under one roof for their clients.

Says Joe Perkins, EP, ARC: “Eugene is a leader in post and FX. He puts absolutely everything into every job he works on and is an all-round top human being making him a great addition to the family. He’s got the very same passion and vision for servicing the story as we all have at ARC, and he will help us take that next step to offer an expanded suite at the highest level. He’ll be based out of Budd Street in Melbourne but will be available for projects in Sydney and elsewhere, should the need arise.

Says Richards: “Without sounding overly stereotypical, I am super excited about joining ARC. It’s an amazing opportunity to join a really talented team and help foster a new department. I feel like ARC are firmly at the forefront editorially and I hope to complement that by creating a department that can deliver dependable, creative solutions in both online and VFX. Being in post production for over 20 years and having owned my own post house, I think I can offer a great deal to ARC and their clients. Exciting times ahead!”
