VANDAL shines as most awarded company at annual Animation and Effects Awards Festival

VANDAL has received the honour as being the most awarded company at the annual AEAF Awards held on Friday night at the Palace Chauvel Cinema in Paddington, Sydney.

 

The AEAF (Animation and Effects Awards Festival) saw the industry’s best vfx, animation, motion, post and new media studios come together to celebrate international work entered from across the globe.

VANDAL was shortlisted for 9 projects in 4 categories. Projects included the recent ‘SBS A World of Difference’ image rebrand; ‘End of Empires’ series for Foxtel; ‘Badu Gili Opera House Projection’; digital placemaking projects for ‘100 Creek Street’, ‘Light Arc’ for the Galeries; as well as augmented reality for ‘World Square Lunar New Year 2019’.

VANDAL was awarded Gold in the Augmented Reality category for the internationally acclaimed ‘World Square Lunar New Year 2019 in the Augmented Reality’ AR activation.

Another Gold Award was awarded in the Educational category for ‘The Sydney Opera House Badu Gilli’ projection mapping, commissioned by creative agency Yakkazoo and curated by head of first nations programming, Rhoda Roberts AO,.

A Silver Award in the TV Idents category went to the SBS’s new brand position ‘A World of Difference’. The project saw VANDAL work alongside one of Australia’s most creative media brands to launch a new look and feel across the network; supporting SBS as strategic design partner creating the hero logo animation, channel idents, on screen graphics, print collateral, physical way finding and brand livery.
