Three Drunk Monkeys facilitate a series of real interviews to highlight dedication of guide dogs
A series of interviews for Guide Dogs NSW / ACT, orchestrated by Three Drunk Monkeys, challenges people to see the charity from a new perspective.
Director, Paola Morabito, from Curious Film, captured interviews with real candidates applying for a role that requires the same job dedication that is expected of a successful Guide Dog; working 24/7, never taking holidays, training for 10 years and foregoing financial payment. Candidates were unsuspecting of the cause and their reactions to all interview questions are genuine.
The Guide Dog Interviews:
A departure from Guide Dogs’ previous advertising, the aim of the idea is to break through barriers and create an awareness of the extraordinary work that Guide Dogs do to improve the everyday lives of the vision-impaired.
Says Noah Regan, creative director at Three Drunk Monkeys: “Guide Dogs do an amazing job. Their dedication and discipline is legendary. They don’t take holidays, chuck sickies or waste work hours anonymously blogging on industry websites. I hope this campaign convinces human workers across the country to donate their hard earned cash to the cause.”
Adds Brad Kemp, marketing co-ordinator at Guide Dogs NSW/ACT: “We all know charities do great work, but their stories all too often end up sounding like more of the same. The job our Guide Dogs do goes above and beyond, and it’s great to be able to share this with people in a fresh new way.”

Nice. Hope it works.
love it. well done guys
Painfully good.
So simple and so well executed. I want a guide dog now.
Green with envy.
Good on the Monkeys for finding a brilliantly simple, fresh take on an old insight. That, my friends, is what we’re paid for.
Nicely done.
Perfect. Blindingly simple.
Brilliant Paola. Nice work.
Easily one of the best TVCs of the year, based on an undeniable truth.
Really lovely stuff.
Finally, now that’s a nice piece of work.
Official score: 4/5* (insightful, effortless and entertaining)
A beautiful ad. Well cast/acted/written/directed. Congrats monkeys and client.
TV networks, run the shit out of it please.
Stellar.
Jolly good.
Yeah I’m a major fan of this – well done.
This campaign has got Beaumont written all over it. Damn he’s good. And so hot right now.
Did the Monkeys do the new Oak stuff? I saw it last night. Please share it.
Great stuff… love it.
Best ad I’ve seen 4 a long time.
Love it.
Very nice. Good to see the Bankwest set being re-used.
A perfect ad – the hard truths coupled with a warm fuzzy feeling at the end. Best ad of the year
I haven’t always been the greatest fan of Monkey work, but this is really, really good.
Very strong idea matched with faultless direction. By far the best ad of the year and a campaign that we’ll see winning all over the place.
Excellent work lads.
The Australian bar has been raised. Finally.
The first sober idea to ever come out of the Monkeys. Well done.
yeah, have to agree, rare for 3dm to go substance over style. Well done.
ah, the old “interview with a surprise twist” set-up. it’s been awhile.
….and now please can we have a comment from anyone not associated with the job…..or at least someone jealous of the work………
nice one Becks!!
Clever Fuckers
Very jealous!
heavily borrowed from the latest US Truth anti-smoking campaign that won at Cannes this year
Look, I’d hate to fart in church … but it’s just a campaign for *guide dogs*, right? I’m pretty sure some famous ad guy once said: if you can’t write a brilliant ad with a dog in it, you should probably just pull that trigger right now.
What I wanna know is where all the great campaign ideas are for boring shit like baked beans and financial services. Coz they’re like hens teeth in the award annuals, aren’t they?
hmm….
Like!
Really nice spot guys, well done.
