The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) has launched its new campaign ‘Together. Fight.’ via KWP! that aims to educate South Australians about THRF, shine the spotlight on the critical work the organisation undertakes and show that together, we can fight this.

Every day hundreds of South Australians, young and old, fight cancer, heart disease, stroke, dementia and other potentially deadly enemies. Patients fight to stay alive, and through The Hospital Research Foundation, researchers fight to keep them alive.

THRF chief executive officer Paul Flynn explains that while The Hospital Research Home Lottery is popular, they want people to understand THRF is about so much more than just one major fundraiser.

Says Flynn: “The foundation supports research across a broad range of illness and disease. We want people to stand alongside us as we continue to support people in the community by funding vital research and patient care activities in hospitals.

“Because if we don’t undertake this life-saving work, who will?”

Says Corey Swaffer, executive creative director, KWP!, who also directed the two gripping one-minute film and content pieces: “We wanted to do something very different and yes, confronting, to bring attention to the life-saving work of THRF.

“The Beast is a graphic representation of the seemingly insurmountable opponents that sufferers of disease face every day. The key message is that together we can take on these opponents and make a difference.”

Filmed in an unused warehouse in Port Adelaide, the ‘Arm Wrestle’ and ‘Tug of War’ commercials were shot across three days using a small cast including real-life talent with the end result, two very powerful and emotive ads calling on South Australian’s to join the fight.

The advertisements shine light on victims and survivors and sends a strong message to viewers – that diseases and illness can strike anyone, at any time – but no one is alone in their battles because together, we can fight.

KWP! group managing director David O’Loughlin said the company felt compelled to ‘join the fight’ and work with the team at THRF to unveil the Together. Fight campaign across South Australia: “This campaign has been a year in the making and has brought together the best of our full-service offering with the Communications, Advertising, Media and Technology groups, including CMS and data integration, to produce this powerful campaign.

“Supporting such an incredible organisation and connecting the Together. Fight message with audiences everywhere is at the heart of what we do, and it’s been a privilege to bring this campaign to life.”

The Together. Fight. campaign debuts across TV, cinema, digital and social today, Wednesday, 12 June.
