The Aunties + Youngbloods host sell-out panel discussion ‘Playing in the Boys Club: How to Recognise and Overcome Imposter Syndrome’

Four of the industry’s finest met last week for an in-depth conversation about ‘Playing in the Boys Club: How to Recognise and Overcome Imposter Syndrome’, kindly hosted by oOh!media and generously sponsored by Yalumba Wines.

The power panel featured head of strategy at WhiteGREY Melbourne Nomfundo Msomi, co-founder and director of Moxie Progressive Period Care Mia Klitsas, executive creative director at M&C Saatchi Melbourne Emma Robbins, plus Certified Life and Mindset Coach and impostor syndrome specialist Rachel Lounds, and was moderated by senior strategist at TBWA, Youngbloods member and Auntie, Dhivia Pillai.

The conversation explored important themes of confidence vs competence, situations of feeling like an outsider by gender, identity and ethnicity and offered tangible advice, including how to ask for pay rises.

Says Claudia Sarosiek, Youngbloods Vic co-chair and TBWA creative: “It was an honour bringing people from all corners of the industry together to listen, reflect, and support each other. Our power panel delivered valuable advice applicable to all, regardless of gender.”

Says Phoebe Sloane, co-founding Auntie and senior copywriter at Clemenger BBDO: “Everyone in this room walked away with something positive and constructive. Working with Youngbloods has been wonderful. We’re excited to take this conversation to Sydney next year.”

Couldn’t make the event? For anyone interested, they’re encouraged to follow Youngbloods and The Aunties on Instagram to soak up some post-event wisdom from our panelists.
