PUSH unearths underground dancers for new Platypus campaign ‘Get Your Kicks’ via Taboo

Shanghai-born, newly Sydney-minted creative studio PUSH has tapped into internet culture in the new national ‘Get Your Kicks’ campaign for Platypus Shoes.

The campaign heroes up and coming dance talent from Sydney and Melbourne discovered on instagram.

Commissioned by Taboo Group and directed by PUSH founder Jonathon Lim, the high energy, dancers @aishamarydance @jiggyjaya @daystarkuando and Lucky Garduce express their individuality through their style, their moves and their shoes.

Says Lim: “We can do a lot of filmmaking tricks- but at the end of the day, it was a really simple, pure fun concept from the team at Taboo. We found super charismatic talent that could show “Get your kicks” is something that lives inside you and can burst out any time in the most mundane of situations.”

The Platypus work is the latest in a string of shoots that have seen PUSH perform its own signature move of helping brands connect and find a relevant place in culture.

Since opening in Sydney at the end of 2020, PUSH’s other notable local work includes Champion’s first ever Pride campaign, a collaboration with queer screen culture non-for-profit Sissy Screens and music videos for Filipino-Australian pop sensation Ylona Garcia (signed to 88Rising with over 4M followers worldwide).
